Adams, Melissa

Melissa Adams is a supplier diversity manager with UPS is aligned with the transportation category team and is charged with helping the sub-category owners develop strategies for growing diverse spend.  Melissa also helps sourcing managers and other stakeholders find and engage qualified small and/or diverse suppliers. This includes developing and participating in supplier identification and development events and programs. She is also responsible for developing the UPS supplier sustainability strategy.

Prior to joining the Supplier Diversity Team in 2022, Melissa was the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and has been with UPS since 2019.  Prior to joining UPS, she was a Senior Program Director with GuideWell Source. Melissa has also served in the roles of Senior Manager of Charitable Giving for Southeastern Grocer and Manager of Digital Engagement with Florida Blue.  Melissa began her career as an Analyst with Accenture.  

Presently, Melissa is a board of directors’ member for Girls, Inc. of Greater Atlanta and The Homecoming Challenge and is a member of The Links, Incorporated, Atlanta (GA) Chapter, Leadership Jacksonville, and Leadership Florida.  She has been awarded 40 under 40 by the Jacksonville Business Journal and 20 Under 40 by the Black Expo.

Melissa holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and International Business from Clark Atlanta University and has completed the McKinsey & Company’s, Black Leadership Academy.  Melissa is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of Alabama.
