Kay Koplovitz

 Enterprising Women
Lifetime Achievement Award

Kay Koplovitz

Kay Koplovitz is a pioneer in cable television networks and new media ventures. Kay founded USA Networks in 1977, becoming the first female network president in television history. She ran the company for 21 years.

Kay was appointed by President Clinton to chair the National Women's Business Council and created the non-profit venture capital forum Springboard Enterprises. Springboard has raised over a billion dollars in venture capital over the past three years through 10 venture capital forums.

Currently chairman of Broadway Television Network, Kay has started her own angel fund for high net worth investors, Angels4Equity. She has authored a book, Bold Women, Big Ideas: Learning to Play the High-Risk Entrepreneurial Game (an excerpt ran in a recent issue of Enterprising Women). The book shares her personal story of breaking the barriers of the old-boy network and opening doors for women who want to forge their own start-ups.

Kay has spent a lifetime blazing trails for women in business. For her remarkable accomplishments in network television and her vision in creating Springboard Enterprises, which has provided opportunities for so many women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses to the next level, Enterprising Women is pleased to honor Kay Koplovitz with our 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award.
