BY JUDIE FRAMAN

The Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) named Diane Craig, president of The Label & Packaging Company, a Northbrook, IL-based designer and manufacture of pressure-sensitive labels, decals, bar codes, displays, and coupons, its 2002 Women's Business Enterprise Success award winner.

Craig, a resident of Glenview, IL, received her honor during the WBDC-sponsored 16th Annual Entrepreneurial Woman's Conference, Sept. 4-5 at Chicago's Navy Pier.

"Because Diane Craig has demonstrated unequaled strength, perseverance and creativity in her business, and has embodied entrepreneurial success, we are pleased to honor her with our 2002 Women's Business Enterprise Success award," WBDC Co-President Hedy Ratner said in making the presentation.

Along with Craig, six other honorees were given their awards at the Hall of Fame Award Breakfast held during the conference. They include:

  • Diana Conley, Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year award;
  • Gwen Meeks, Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year-Rising Star;
  • Illinois Gov. George H. Ryan, Government Support;
  • LaSalle Bank, Norman R. Bobins and Mary A. Laraia, Corporate Support;
  • Beth Doria, Advocacy; and

Paul R. Gibson, Lifetime Advocacy for Women- and Minority-Owned Businesses.
