With hundreds of nominations pouring in for the Enterprising Women of the Year Awards, Enterprising Women recognized 14 award winners and named 16 finalists representing women-owned businesses across the country.
Finalists for the Enterprising Women of the Year Award included:
- Susan Silvano of Career Management International, Inc., a Houston , TX firm that provides a diverse package of human resource management and development services.
- Patricia Owen of Faces DaySpa, a Hilton Head Island, SC day spa, beauty boutique and SpaShoppe offering state-of-the-art treatments, products and services.
- Peggy Swords of Excalibur Exhibits, a Houston , TX full-service event marketing firm that specializes in helping clients maximize their budgets by integrating events, Web sites, and collateral materials to accomplish marketing goals.
- Lois Clearman Stephenson of Building Blocks Child Care & Development Centers, a Clayton, NC 4-star child care facility specializing in family-friendly child care for children birth through 12 years old.
- Wendy Kaufman of Balancing Life’s Issues, Inc., a Ossining , NY firm that provides executive training one-on-one and group training for mid- to high-level executives, non-profits, and educational institutions.
- Sue Kozel of SK Visions, a Cream Ridge, NJ public relations and press relations firm serving small business clients.
- Deborah Bailey of Bailey Design and Advertising, a Honesdale, PA full-service advertising agency providing print media, radio, television, public relations, and small business creative work such as brochures, logo development, and letterhead design.
- Darcy Ann Flanders of Baseline Design, a New York City graphic design and corporate communications firm that produces print and Web-based marketing materials for corporate, not-for-profit, and institutional clients.
- Nancy Denker of Focus Ink, Inc., a Albuquerque , NM provider of printing and promotional products.
- Ruth Corcoran of Corcoran Communications, a Wilkes-Barre, PA firm that offers public relations and event coordination using cost-effective, innovative, creative solutions.
- Kathy Chavez Napoli of Napri, Inc., a Santa Clara, CA company that handles truck recycling of new and rebuilt truck parts, and new parts sales and service.
- Karen Macumber of Fulgent Media Group, Inc., a Boston , MA media strategy, planning and buying firm servicing start ups to Fortune 500 clients.
- Beverly J. Prior of Beverly Prior Architects, a San Francisco, CA architectural planning and design firm specializing in civic, justice, and law enforcement facilities, as well as K-12 educational facilities, community colleges, and community centers.
- Michelle Fama, Kim Villanueva and Patti Spahn of Core Pilates NYC, a New York City pilates studio that received early funding from Count-Me-In, and is using innovating marketing to reach new moms, seniors, and other target audiences.
